Before and After Your Visit

Before your appointment
- If your physician approves, pause blood-thinning medications and supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for a few days beforehand.
- Skip alcohol for about 24 hours before your appointment to reduce the chance of bruising.
- Arrive with clean skin, and let us know about any recent illness, new medications, or cold sore history.
- Avoid scheduling filler within two weeks of a major event, in case of temporary swelling or bruising.
After your appointment
- Expect some swelling, tenderness, or minor bruising for a few days — this is normal and temporary.

Do dermal fillers hurt?
Most people find them very tolerable. The products themselves often contain a numbing agent, and we use topical numbing and a gentle technique for added comfort. You may feel a brief pinch or some pressure during placement.
Will I look overfilled or unnatural?
No — that's the opposite of our approach. We use conservative amounts and careful, balanced placement to enhance your natural features. Refreshed, not overdone, is always the goal.
How long do dermal fillers last?
It depends on the product and the area treated. Many hyaluronic-acid fillers last roughly 12–18 months, while biostimulators like Sculptra can last two years or more. Your provider will give you a realistic range for your plan.
Why do you often lean toward Radiesse over Sculptra?
Both are excellent collagen-building biostimulators, and Sculptra has real strengths — it's a great option for gradual, widespread volume restoration over a planned series of visits. For many patients, we lean toward Radiesse. It's made from calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), so it adds natural-looking volume you can see right away (from the gel it's carried in) while also encouraging your body to build new collagen and elastin over the months that follow — a combination of immediate and longer-term improvement that often means fewer sessions to reach the result. Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) is designed to work more gradually: it adds little lasting volume up front and builds collagen step by step, usually across a series of treatments. The two simply stimulate collagen in different ways, and neither is better in every case — the right choice depends on your goals, the area, and your anatomy, and your provider will recommend what fits you best.
What's the difference between filler and Botox?
Wrinkle relaxers like Botox soften lines caused by muscle movement, such as frown lines and crow's feet. Fillers restore lost volume and smooth static folds. Many patients combine both for a balanced, refreshed result.
When will I see results?
